Concorde Fire Select (for boys) and Athena (for girls) Soccer programs are designed for players in the U11 – U19 age groups who desire a highly competitive level of play. Our players come from all over the Atlanta Metro area to take advantage of the training that Concorde Fire offers. Our certified professional coaching and training staff is proud of its international playing and coaching experience. Concorde Fire provides outstanding team development that results in state, regional and national championships. Our focus on player development is an ideal preparation for high school, college and the Olympic Development Program.
Select/Athena teams train twice weekly and play weekend matches against teams from other clubs around the North Georgia area. Additionally, teams may choose to participate in various local or regional tournaments.
Positions on Select/Athena teams are competitively awarded and skill based. Each spring (see our Calendar of Events for actual dates), Concorde Fire holds open tryouts where interested players are evaluated by our coaching and training staff. The skills, attitude and potential each player exhibits at these tryouts are considered when team positions are offered. It is the nature of these programs and inherent in the selection process that not every player will be offered a team position. We urge players who are not selected to take advantage of Concorde Fire’s Recreational program and Soccer Camps to advance their skills and prepare for next year’s tryouts.
On Signing Day (see our Calendar of Events for actual date) players commit to the team by submitting completed registration materials and a check for club fees. For those unfamiliar with the process, volunteers at tryouts will assist in answering your questions.

Concorde Fire Select/Athena Soccer and its players make a mutual one-year commitment, which lasts until the tryout period the following year. While you are playing at Concorde, we ask that you give careful consideration to absences so that the effect on the other players is minimized. Regular attendance at practice sessions is encouraged.
Concorde Fire expects players who represent the club to maintain high standards of personal behavior both on and off the field. We place great importance on academics and expect players to organize their activities to accommodate both schoolwork and soccer at high levels of achievement. We look to parents to ensure that their Concorde Fire players reach games and practices on time, to attend whenever possible with a positive attitude, and to participate in the running of the Club in some capacity. There is a continuing need for abilities of every kind; please review the Volunteer Opportunities in your registration package, or ask any coach or team manager for details.
Everyone should take any opportunity to watch and learn about soccer by supporting the Atlanta Silverbacks, the Beat, watching MLS and European matches on television or even learning to become a referee! Players as young as 11 (and their parents) can take the entry-level USSF referee course, and upon certification can be paid for helping referee Georgia Youth Soccer Association games.
Fees and Other Costs
Please see the Concorde Fee Agreement in the Registration Package for a breakdown of fees for each age level. Please note that teams may also choose to participate in local or regional tournaments and will require additional costs that may range from $25 – $60 per player, per tournament, independent of lodging costs.
